Through Syncusteer?, JTEKT will advance proposals that contribute to value creation for customers and help address challenges in next-generation mobility.

Guided by its mission, "Joint technology to bring joy to the planet earth and all working people," the JTEKT Group has established the JTEKT Group 2030 Vision--"To become a solution provider creating the future of a mobility society through Monozukuri and Monozukuri equipment"--as the state it aims to achieve by 2030.
To transform into this solution provider, the JTEKT Group is pursuing business activities along two key axes: enhancing the added value of existing products and taking on challenges in new fields.
The steer-by-wire system that JTEKT Group is proposing to customers under the name "Syncusteer?" represents a flagship example of a solution created by integrating the core competencies the Group has cultivated as a pioneer in steering systems.
Syncusteer? enhances driving experiences while providing greater comfort and freedom in vehicle interior design and serves as a key solution for shaping and delivering the future of the mobility society.

Background and Purpose of the Trademark Application
JTEKT began mass production of electric power steering (EPS) in 1988, becoming the first company in the world to do so. Since then, with a view toward the future mobility society, JTEKT has continued to develop a linkless steer-by-wire system in which the steering unit and the road wheel actuator are not mechanically connected.
JTEKT takes pride in its steer-by-wire system as No.1 & Only One in terms of safety and comfort. In order to further differentiate this system from competitors' products, JTEKT has decided to file an application for trademark registration.
This steer-by-wire system has been adopted in the LEXUS "RZ" and Toyota Motor Corporation's "e?Palette." Going forward, JTEKT will further expand proposals of "Syncusteer?" to customers considering the adoption of steer-by-wire systems.
LEXUS is a registered trademark of Toyota Motor Corporation.

Concept Behind the Name and Logo

The name "Syncusteer? embodies a promise to customers to deliver a safer and more comfortable driving experience for everyone. It is a coined term formed by combining SYNC, US, and STEER.
SYNC symbolizes the smooth alignment of the driver and vehicle states, as well as the harmony created when humans and machines work naturally together. US reflects the pride and responsibility of JTEKT in delivering proprietary technologies developed in?house. STEER represents steering itself, expressing the core of the steering technologies JTEKT has cultivated over many years.
In addition, the term "Synca" carries connotations of evolution, deepening, and true value, conveying the innovation and value offered by steer?by?wire as a next?generation steering system.

The logo is designed based on the initial "S" of "Syncusteer?," the "J" that symbolizes JTEKT, arrows and circles representing synchronization and harmony, and a concept that conveys infinite possibilities.
While the overall form is composed of flowing curves that evoke the letter "S," the black section at the bottom incorporates the shape of the letter "J."
By separating the upper and lower elements of the design, the logo expresses the linkless structure of the system. The opposing arrows above and below symbolize the high level of coordination between the upper and lower systems, as well as the harmony between humans and machines. In addition, a white infinity symbol (¡Þ) emerges at the center, representing diversity, scalability, and a high degree of freedom.
The logo's softly rounded overall shape also conveys adaptability to a transition from conventional steering wheels to new forms of steering interfaces.
Through these design elements, the logo achieves a balance of approachability and forward-looking vision.

Forecast
