Thordon Bearings help in Fortum hydropower plant application

The scope of the project was so extensive, it made sense for CKD Blansko to replace all of these bearings to achieve the best control of shaft position and vibration.” <p style="margin:0px 0px 30px;padding:0px;color:#313131;text-transform:none;text-indent:0px;letter-spacing:normal;font-family:"Open Sans", sans-serif;font-size:16px;font-style:normal;font-weight:300;word-spacing:0px;white-space:normal;box-sizing:inherit;orphans:2;widows:2;background-color:#FFFFFF;font-variant-ligatures:normal;font-variant-caps:normal;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;"> While the six original oil lubricated bearings were replaced with new oil lubricated assemblies, only the one closest to the water was replaced with an SXL water lubricated guide bearing to support the 420mm (16.53”) diameter shaft. Thordon also supplied a longer wearing SXL seal face material for the axial seal assembly that was installed.
