IMO brings expertise to bear

German bearing specialist IMO has presented a blade bearing retrofit kit ahead of the Hamburg WindEnergy trade show.

The kit is intended as a solution to prematurely failing four-point contact ball bearings, which according to the company can deform prematurely during standard operations.<br />
The solution is based on the T-Solid product family and can replace failing blade bearings in 2MW and 3MW class turbines.<br />
The new IMO offering does not generate any additional radial load during load transfer in contrast to the four-point contact bearings, said the company,<br />
The kit is manufacturer independent and is suitable for all turbines and blade bearings.<br />
