SKF highlights issue of counterfeit bearings

Swedish engineering company SKF will be displaying a wide range of solutions and expertise to enhance safety and reduce maintenance costs at Posidonia 2018.

Visitors to SKF stand will able to see the company¡¯s Condition Monitoring Kits, which simplify and improve the process of data monitoring onboard ship, extend service intervals, reduce maintenance costs and generate cost savings.

The company will highlight the issue of counterfeit bearings with a display of genuine and counterfeit SKF bearings. ¡°Counterfeit products are becoming a key industry issue: if installed in safety critical equipment, they can raise the safety risk for people and the environment,¡± SKF said.

Visitors to the stand will be able to access the free SKF Authenticate app, to find out which of the displayed bearings is the genuine one.

There will also be the opportunity to see a shaft line exhibit, a wire rope lubrication system, SKF OK coupling solutions and hydraulic vaults.

SKF experts will also be hand at Hall 2, stand 2.409.
