Schaeffler has developed a new system that maximizes the overall equipment efficiency of machine tools. The technology uses sensors built into a ring that can be integrated into spindle bearings. Schaeffler also notes that Cloud computing and software algorithms are already included in the sensor technology. As a result, the sensor does not need additional components. The sensor is capable of detecting a potential overload and provides long-term protection for machine tool spindles.
