The 202 race-free days are over. This weekend (May 7 and 8) the DTM is starting its new season at Hockenheim. Mike Rockenfeller from Audi Sport Team Phoenix in his Schaeffler Audi RS 5 DTM will be on the grid. The 2013 Champion is hoping for a perfect opening round of the season that consists of nine events in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Russia. Two races are contested per weekend. For Mike Rockenfeller, 2016 is his tenth season with Audi in the DTM and his fifth one of sporting Schaeffler’s colors. His race car delivering some 460 hp has received a slightly modified look. Now, more green elements and the company’s motto “Mobility for tomorrow” dominate the livery. A high-caliber field, extreme competitiveness and fine-tuning of the regulations all promise a thrilling season.
